Kristen Wiig, along with her Barb & Star Go To Vista Del Mar co-star and co-writer Annie Mumolo, joined Gal at the event dressed as their characters. Kristen portrayed the geologist Barbara Minerva who eventually became the villain Cheetah in Wonder Woman 1984.
Due to the ongoing pandemic and safety protocols, this year’s ceremony, typically held in early January, was rescheduled to February 28. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosted for the fourth time, but for the first time, they were not physically together. Fey was at Rockefeller Center in New York City, while Poehler was at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, where the ceremony is usually held.
Even though the nominees filmed from their homes, the presenters made appearances in person at the event, which was otherwise empty.
